Hot swap (hot swap) is a technology that allows you to replace the switches of your keyboard without having to disassemble it or use a soldering iron. This means you can easily replace the switches on your keyboard to change the feel of the keys or to replace broken switches. Hot swap makes the keyboard modification process simpler and more affordable.
Special pullers should be used to remove the switches. In most cases, keyboards with hot swap tech come with the necessary puller included in the kit.
Before you can remove the switch, you need to remove the keycap. After that, using the special puller, slightly squeeze the switch under the very bottom of its case. Be sure to place the puller on the side of the LED and the opposite side. Once you’ve fixed the puller, pull away from the keyboard. To make it easier, perform movements as if you are pulling on the switch.
