Different platforms and their features.
The console ecosystem is segmented by platform, with each console operating as a separate market. Developers and publishers often create games tailored to specific hardware, and the business models of console platforms, such as exclusive content and distribution for a specific platform, create obstacles to universal compatibility.
Platform manufacturers only ensure full compatibility with devices that have been separately certified. Such devices have appropriate markings on the packaging, indicating their belonging to a specific gaming platform.
Manufacturer Policy.
The closed nature of console platforms compared to open systems such as PCs also contributes to the lack of universal compatibility, as it prevents third-party participation and creates a fragmented market. The console manufacturer can make both design and software changes at its discretion, which can then affect compatibility with accessories/devices from other brands.
Compatibility Table.
The compatibility table on our website reflects the information that was verified by us at the time of the release of a particular device (mouse, keyboard, headset, etc.). The table contains information on compatibility with the most popular gaming platforms. In most cases, this information is relevant throughout the entire life cycle of the gaming platform/console and the device itself.
Tips and tricks.
If you have a device that we have found compatible, but it does not work with your game console - try the following settings:
for mice
🔸set the polling rate to 1000Hz or less;
🔸try using a different USB port on the console;
for keyboards
🔸disable NKRO mode (disabled in software or by a key combination);
🔸try using a different USB port on the console;
for headsets
🔸check if the headset plug is fully connected (for models with a 3.5mm cable);
🔸make sure that the console sees the headset you connected (check the sound settings menu);
🔸set the headset as the sound output/recording device;
🔸check the volume control on the headset or its cable.
